Material | Polyethylene |
Weight | 2,35 kg |
Length | 500 mm |
Width | 195 mm |
Height | 350 mm |
Knitting Length | 0,8 mm |
Drainage Area | max. 160 m² |
Connections | DN100 (Ø110) |
For filtering rainwater. The filter is installed inside the cistern or tank directly between the inlet and overflow. The height offset between these connections is at least 30 mm. The filter contains a slotted sieve with a mesh size of 0.8 mm, through which purified water flows vertically into the tank. In the event of heavy rain or when the water level is very high, the surface of the sieve is freed of dirt particles. This self-cleaning effect means that maintenance is less than with basket filters. Can be used for surface drainage up to 160 m². A hook for lifting the filter is included in the delivery.

Biological filter for rainwater use
Are you looking for a low-maintenance rainwater filter that cleans your water without chemicals and achieves a high rainwater yield of the highest quality? Then you are on the safe side with Biovitor. Biovitor does not contain any wearing parts, so you can rely on maintenance intervals of up to ten years.
We have developed Biovitor to avoid the use of chemical additives and maintenance-intensive filters when cleaning rainwater. Unlike conventional designs, the Biovitor uses the same natural processes for biological self-cleaning as our local waters. This ensures that the rainwater in your rainwater harvesting system remains of consistently high quality.
How our patented biological rainwater filter BIOVITOR works
The Biovitor cleans your rainwater 100% chemical-free based on the natural decomposition process of organic material, such as leaf residue. It consists of two optimally dimensioned chambers, which guarantee biological processes with a high degree of efficiency.
And this is how it works: The rainwater passes through the gutter grate (or other leaf separators) into the gutter and finally through the downpipe into the Biovitor, which is located in the tank or cistern. The first chamber contains marble gravel, which can slightly raise the pH value of the water in order to neutralize slightly acidic rain. This also slightly mineralizes the rainwater.
From here, the pre-cleaned water flows into the second chamber, which is equipped with bio-active substances. Here, the remaining organic components are broken down and decomposed using oxygen and natural microorganisms in the water. Inorganic components settle on the bottom. The clear and clean water then flows slowly into the rainwater tank to avoid creating turbulence.
The Biovitor acts as an inlet calmer and achieves a 100% rainwater yield, as there are no losses due to dirty rainwater filters.
Areas of application for the BIOVITOR rainwater filter
Our biological rainwater filter improves the quality of your rainwater in a biological way. It is suitable for all cisterns and can be retrofitted to almost all rainwater systems. Biovitor is also very suitable for a rainwater system with subsequent infiltration; an additional filter before the infiltration is then not necessary.
Connection options DN 100 (da = 110)
Connectable area: 170 m²
Scope of delivery BIOVITOR DN 100
Biological settling filter with connection DN 100 (da = 110):
- Rainwater inlet (inlet pipe DN 100)
- Biovitor container with 1st and 2nd Biovitor chamber and overflows into the tank
- Marble gravel
- Bio-active bodies
Maintenance and cleaning
Since there are no filter designs that require maintenance or chemical additives and there are no wearing parts, the maintenance intervals are usually five to ten years. Cleaning the pre-filter systems, e.g. gutter grilles or other leaf separator technology, is essential and must be done regularly.

Calmed flow of rainwater into the rainwater storage tank. Fine dirt particles slowly sink to the bottom and form a layer of sediment that has a proven positive effect on the stored rainwater. Stirring up of the sediment layer is avoided and at the same time oxygen is supplied to the stored water.
